I am lucky to live in the wonderland that is Santa Cruz. Have you visited this crazy beautiful town and the surrounding mountains and seas? I'm just so thrilled to be back, I thought I'd share three things that give me joy now, in July. I may make this a regular, monthly feature. Hold me to it!

  • 1) The first time I was in Santa Cruz, I had just escaped the insane clutches of a Moonie Commune and was traveling with a medieval theater troupe in 1973. I loved it! I remember being inspired by both Cabrillo College and the UC campus. That’s where I wanted to go to college.
    2) SC is where I bought my O’Neal 7 mil purple free dive wet suit with matching 27 lb. bullet weight belt. It was my submarine fashion statement, the seals and otters agreed!
    3) Many shows at Kuumbwa Jazz and Moe’s Alley.
