Ashley_fiolek_honda In case you've been living under a rock, let me introduce you to Ashley Fiolek. Ashley is motocross racings wondergirl not only because she's a girl and not only because she's been deaf since birth but because she is no-holds-barred going-all-out motocross racing machine. Which is why she is an obvious choice in anybody's list and certainly for my 31 Days of Women in Motorcycling rollcall.

Ashley's got high-powered sponsors like Honda and Red Bull and have you seen the TV ad of the crazy motocross racer flying in the air over jumps, crazy turns? The rider dismounts, takes off the helmet, and there's Ashley. Talk about inspiring.

I've met Ashley twice, once at the Women in Motorcycling Conference in Keystone, Colorado where she was the keynote speaker, and then at the motorcycle show in San Mateo last winter. She's tiny, lovely, graceful, and hilariously funny.

Read all about her in Wikipedia and check out her supercool website.
