I just found a great resource for riding in Morocco — UKGSER.com — the UK's largest GS riding community. Apparently Morocco is to UK riders what Mexico is to (Northern) California riders, because plenty have done it. Tim Cullis, who moderates the Morocco forum, has created a great Morocco GS Knowledge Base. (Hey, do you think he'll mind that I'm taking a Ural?) He's also on HorizonsUnlimited.com, on this thread. I'm having a great time planning my trip! Also, people who have done it say that a woman traveling alone there is okay. I'm taking the trip in May/June 2009, and will probably focus on areas near the Atlas Mountains.

  • Yeah, I love riding in Morocco. Am back there in 3 weeks. Life is great, food is good and cheap, fuel is cheap, and the roads are… what roads??? Joking aside, there are even a few autoroutes, but don’t be surprised to find a cow or two on them.
You’ll be very fine on your own, you’ll just get some interest from the local boys, but nothing bad.
