Do you wear flip-flops a lot? I do, and I was kind of horrified to learn that it is scientifically proven by doctors that flip-flops are dangerous to your health. In this article, there claim eight potential health risks to wearing flip-flops including bacteria, blisters, and bone spurs. Check it out.

A bucket full of danger

Not to mention, riding motorcycles in flip-flops.

Ha ha.

Carla King Motorcycle Adventure Travel Giant Loop Moto Great Basin Bag

I swear I didn’t ride like this. I was just pointing out how the Giant Loop Great Basin Bag fits so surprisingly well on my KTM. I thought it would be too big but it was perfect. I could slide the heavy stuff inside the legs of the bag, like tools and water for desert riding, keeping the center of gravity slow. That’s important anytime but especially when riding in the sand.

Shopping for alternatives I found these Amazon top bestsellers – synthetic waterproof, shock-absorbent, BPA-free, washable, for travel, wading, beach, boat, camping, or just hanging out. I am finding that I like a bit more protection against the rocks and sand, anyway.

For water shoes, this is my personal favorite. Fashionable, huh? Love the camo with shark design.

These Converse “Shoreline” slip-on sneakers for women looks pretty comfy, too, and comes in lots of colors. I just might have to grab those, too, because they are going to look great with jeans and shorts.

Just to reassure you I always ride in proper footwear, I love my new Forma Adventure Boots. Just got them and they were comfortable enough on the very first day for a ride and a hike up steep desert trail.

After I decide on my cheap non-flip-flop shoes, I’m ready for a less dangerous adventure.

So what do you think? Is this flip-flop warning BS or do you agree? What do you wear in lieu of flip-flops? I wanna know!

By the way, have you seen my review of adventure dual-sport motorcycle boots? I am always looking for updates and suggestions. What do you wear? Go to the post and tell me there. Thanks!
