You might be suprised to hear that The Economist is one of my favorite travel magazines. It covers countries and issues that one never hears about in the US-based media, and it provides a clear idea of how the US is viewed by other earth dwellers. The subscription is steep at about $100 per year, but as a traveler and a writer, I find that it is an invaluable resource and reference, especially with its online search engine and other resources:
1. Technology Quarterly – Read The Economist’s latest survey of technology, with articles on biometric security, open-source software in developing countries, the video-gaming industry and more
2. Buttonwood – Economist.com’s weekly column covering the financial markets
3. Economics A-Z – A comprehensive source for economics terms and definitions, from Absolute Advantage to Zero-Sum games
4. MBA Outlook – Our quarterly feature dedicated to the world of business education. If you’re considering an MBA or are currently enrolled in an MBA programme, do not miss this important report
5. Business Encyclopedia – A detailed reference providing a dictionary of business terms, 200 practical guides addressing business challenges, and profiles of the world’s successful businessmen
6. Cities Guide – Our resource for global business travellers, with tips on hotels, dining, etiquette, what to see, what to avoid, and more, covering 20 of the world’s business destinations
