Next Saturday is the Spring Equinox and could the beginning of your journey to becoming a published writer – or if you are a published writer, to start taking control of your own works instead of sacrificing them to the crumbling publishing empire.

On March 21st I'm co-teaching a workshop on self-publishing with my adventure travel writing colleague and longtime teacher Lisa Alpine in Mill Valley, California. I'm really looking forward to sharing the journeys I took publishing my three books, Cycling the French Riveria, Wild Writing Women: Stories of World Travel, and American Borders. They were all very different experiences and have followed the cutting edge of everything in self-publishing and new media, and I want to show you how you can do it, too.

This all-day class will be small in size so that we can give you personal attention. We'll cover the process and possibilities from beginning to end from creating your book, editorial and proofreading, design and layout, printing and electronic delivery, website and online store, distribution, promotion and marketing, social media, and more.

By the end of the class you'll be armed with all the information you need to publish your story(ies) or book online or in print. This high-energy class is guaranteed to get you motivated and on your way to becoming a published author! Sign up now – space is really limited.

  • Sounds like a great workshop and I would probably attend if I wasn’t 2000+ miles away. I have thought many times about a book based on Scooter in the Sticks though usually some variation of a self-published Blurb book.
    Good luck with your workshop!
