Following a thread on Adventure Rider I just found a welcome packing tip for dual-sport riders planning long trips who need a bag to strap on the rear of the bike. The Giant Loop bag is a favorite and I can see why – it's simple
simple simple. Though I might prefer the Wolfman bag – also recommended – because of the storm flap and all the other goodies (map pocket, document pouch that can be used as waist bag, etc.).

Packing for Off-Road Motorcycling: Big Bags to Strap on the Back
by Carla King in Uncategorized | 1 Comments

The Cabella’s waterproof dufflebag comes in different sizes. I have the smallest one–24 inches long. It costs less because it doesn’t say “I’m made for motorcycling,” and it is very waterproof. I once carried my cameras and laptop, along with my clothes, in my bag for 300 miles of rain–everything inside was dry. Secondly, when it’s full, and behind you on the pillion seat, it makes a great back rest for long distance riding.
