Maintaining the correct air pressure in your motorcycle tires is one of the most important things you need to do for safety (first!), proper handling and, of course, mileage. There's a good number of compact air compressors on the market, for example, Rider magazine favorably reviewed the $25 Airman Sparrow last June. But here's an article on how to make your own for about $10 (by ripping out the guts of an air pump), for you do-it-yourselfers, or those of with more time than money in the current economy.

Compact Air Compressor for Motorcycle Tires: Make Your Own
by Carla King in Uncategorized | 1 Comments

I just bought a mini air compressor at Walmart for $10. It is very small, but can be a little smaller by taking the case off of it. It has a built in pressure gauge and can produce up to 200psi! That should be enough, don’t ya think? Now, all I need to do is install a power outlet on the V-Strom, or convert the cord of the compressor to alligator clips to attach to the battery when needed.
