In March 2001 two friends who live in Oahu, Shannon A. and Shannon W. were surfing the Internet looking for women’s riding jackets and stumbled across Michelle’s personal homepage dedicated to sportbikes and riding. They soon started riding together. Soon after that Laura and Jeanette were referred to the group by a salesman at a local motorcycle shop. Several months later Brenda had heard about this group of female riders and introduced herself at the 2001 Toy Run. Friends that ride, friendly local salespeople, parts and service departments at the local bike shops continued to spread the word to other female riders and by summer 2002 they numbered 27.

At this point, Dangerous Curves Hawaii did not have an official name — they were just known as the "all female group."
In late 2002 Dangerous Curves made the cover story of the the local paper’s local section and a few weeks later in a free residential publication. Their contact list of 50 female riders in the area went up to 80 in a matter of weeks.
In 2007 Jen stepped up to be the group leader, and today there are over 100 riders in the group, who get together not just for riding, but for movies, dinners, horseback riding, and beach days. Riders range in age from their early 20’s to over 50 years old, with single women, married women, and moms with careers that vary from homemakers, active military, office workers, to business owners.
Visit Dangerous Curves on the web. Their rules page might be useful as a basis for rules for other groups.
Aloha!

Aloha! Thanks for selecting our group for your “club of the week”. That is awesome!
I just wanted to point out the link you used for “Michelle’s personal homeage” is not correct, as that is not MY page. The personal page that the two Shannon’s found is no longer a working page.
Ride safe!
