NewlogoMan oh man, would I like to be there now. Today the gates open at BMW MOA Rally in the  high plains of Gillette, Wyoming.Turns out it’s the 25th anniversary of BMW’s "K" bike – that’s the one I just got – which is not (gasp!) an "airhead" but an inline, water-cooled 3 (750cc) or 4 (1000cc) cynlinder bike.

Mine is the 1975 740cc version, which is, according to the BMWMOA, the most popular: "…the bike that proved especially popular was the smaller 740cc, 3-cylinder, K 75 that was introduced in 1985. The still-in-demand K75 is especially noteworthy because of its continuing popularity, even though the last of the K75s left the BMW factory 13 years ago, in 1995."

Yep, so far so good. I love it I love it I love it!  Hopefully somebody who was there will provide a report I can link to next week.

  • Congrats on your recent acquisition, Carla. I wouldn’t recommend an older bike for most women, but then you’re not an ordinary woman!
You might want to keep the Bullet for a while though. They can be easily converted to run on alcohol or E-85, which is found mostly in Corn Belt states and is 85% ethanol.
