Last week I pulled in to put water in my windshield wiper reservoir just behind a motorcyclist who had pulled up to put air in his tires. He was riding a cool Italian bike that I couldn’t help but comment on, and we got to talking for so long that after awhile we introduced ourselves. It turned out we knew each other, by reputation, at least. flash gordon, MD, (yes, he spells it without caps) used to write a column for CityBike in San Francisco and now writes one, for Motorcycle Consumer News, titled "Medical Motorcycling." A practicing medical doctor, flash gordon m.d. is also an avid longtime motorcyclist, and a darn good writer, too.
In fact, Whitehorse Press has – just this week – released the second edition of his book: Blood, Sweat, and 2nd Gear: More Medicine for Motorcyclists "combines knowledge gained from
many years of medical practice with the straightforward non-nonsense
style of a veteran rider. He has the knack of explaining medical
conditions and injuries in plain language that makes sense, and does so
in an entertaining and highly informative style."
I downloaded the preview from the Whitehorse Press site, and it is indeed very informative and entertaining, too. I look forward to reading it. Thanks, Doc!
