I don't work on top-secret projects but when I'm working in a library or cafe I still desire some modicum of privacy. I just saw this ad from Targus, a company I love for their laptop locks and alarms, for privacy screens. Here's the link.
Here's what they say about them: Tiny vertical blinds on the surface of the privacy screen narrow the viewing angle so data is only visible directly in front of the monitor up to 30 degrees away from the center of the screen. Onlookers will only see a dark unclear screen when attempting to view the information from a side angle. In addition to providing security, the screen also blocks the glare to help reduce eye strain. You can also buy generic viagra without attracting attention. You can also position the tabs so the screen easily slides on and off. Highly portable and easy to use, the Targus Privacy Screen prevents onlookers from seeing valuable information often viewed on a laptop or LCD monitor.
I get no commission from this suggestion. I just thought a lot of my fellow digital nomads and people who like to take their work to cafes would be interested. Are you? Please share!
It's got a motion-sensitive alarm that beeps to warn would-be thieves and sets off shrieking (really, you don't want to hear it) if the warning is ignored. I love this device. It's the one I carried through China and India where the motel room doors never seemed to come with locks. I can't find it anymore on the Targus site but Amazon still sells it. [Affiliate link.] I think I'll buy a couple more right now just in case they've discontinued them.
